Art with a view

Rachel Kay Hall was a professional artist living and working in Worcester. She was born and grew up in Worcester, and after studying at Worcester Technology College went to Nottingham Trent Polytechnic to study fashion and design.

She worked in London and lived for a time in South Africa.

Back in Worcester she worked for nearly twenty years at Oddbins, the local wine merchant until it went into administration and closed in 2011. She had extensive experience in general and custom retail. After running an art shop in the Hopmarket, Worcester, selling cards, prints, original art and other gifts, Rachel worked from home.

She was recently Mayoress of the City. Until the end, she retained a love and extensive knowledge for fine wine. Fizz in particular.

Rachel exhibited in West Malvern for many years and for Worcestershire Open Studios. She described herself as ‘specialising in vibrant floral watercolours, including pen and ink, painted and stylised from real life subjects. I am creative, experienced in watercolour design and with inspirational ideas’.  She said she ‘had a slightly non-conformist and fun approach to life’.
